Pete Spewak - Vice President, Business Development

IMr. Pete Spewak is a third generation government contractor.  Pete's grandfather came to Washington in 1939 to help design ships for the Navy with Foster Wheeler.  His mother worked for Westinghouse Defense and Electronic Center and the Mitre Corporation.  His twin brother Bob and Pete are both in the Federal Contracting business in the Washington DC area, spending most of their time in business development in the services arena for DoD, DHS, FAA, NOAA, GSA and some other Federal Agencies.

Although Mr. Spewak does not consider himself a business development person the last three positions that he has held have been oriented in that direction.  He seems to spend most of his time helping to respond to task order requests for DOD and DHS clients.  Most of his career, however, has been on the operations side of the business.  He has felt most valuable when he was running and building businesses that he was responsible for from a performance and profit point of view.  Like most people in our market place, he has worked for many different companies such as Mitre, Boeing Computer Services, SAIC, and Advanced Technology Systems and has supported a number of different Federal agencies such as DoD, Army, Air Force, Navy, NOAA, Department of Health and Human Services, FAA,  Department of Transportation, Department of Energy and some of the independent agencies.

Both of his children, Casey and Mark, were married last summer and are working as teachers.  He and his wife are very proud of them.  In his spare time he likes to fish and play golf (badly).  He has an undergraduate degree cum laude from William and Mary and has completed about half of the requirements for a Masters in Planning from the University of Virginia.
