| Boards and C-level stakeholders have come to understand the integral link between enterprise and corporate governance and IT governance in achieving organizational strategies and objectives – a business truth that enGenius’ Vice President, C-Level Advisory Services, Bill Kalahar has adhered to for his entire career.
Based on his knowledge and experience, Mr. Kalahar has been awarded the Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT) designation by the Certification Board of the IT Governance Institute (ISACA), an international non-profit organization of over 86,000 IT governance, assurance and security professionals in 160 counties founded in 1969. Its IS auditing and IS control standards are followed by practitioners worldwide.
The Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT) designation promotes the advancement of professionals recognized for their IT governance-related experience and knowledge and has been earned by a little over 200 professionals since founded. The certification recognizes the deep expertise needed to maximize information technology’s contribution to an enterprise’s success while managing and mitigating risks posed by IT, according to ISACA.
“IT has become vital to the achievement of enterprise goals and delivery of benefits, and executives have realized that enterprise governance must be extended to IT as well,” said Howard Nicholson, chair of the CGEIT Certification Board. “There is a sound business need for a certification that recognizes expertise in the field of IT governance and helps enterprises identify and hire professionals who have IT governance knowledge and experience.”
In his most current enGenius assignment, Mr. Kalahar provides CIO advisory services to Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority. He began his career as a Captain in the United States Air Force and has held IT leadership positions with The Coca-Cola Company, Electronic Data Systems (EDS), BearingPoint Consulting and Gartner Group prior to joining enGenius Consulting Group in 2005.
Mr. Kalahar also holds a Certified Computing Professional (CCP) designation from the Institute for the Certification of Computing Professionals (ICCP) and is a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute (PMI).
