World-Wide Networking Capabilities
We have relationships with international companies and organizations in countries including but not limited to India, UK, and France. These strategic relationships enable us to manage and support large-scale global projects without having to send US personnel. The advantage of this is immense in the sense that native engineers naturally understand the local laws, politics and other challenges that will lead to the eventual success or failure of any large networking project that spans different countries.
NEW IN 2001 - Automated scanning service
- The Scanning Service gives our client's regular, periodic detailed information about your host and network security. It helps to build a picture of what a potential intruder would see when trying to break into your network or systems. We accompany this with recommended Solutions and a Risk Analysis Reports.
As the areas of Networking and Security are constantly growing and changing, enGenius makes it a priority to stay abreast of these changes and adjust our services and methodologies accordingly. When performing any work for our clients, enGenius scrupulously complies with and meticulously adheres to, established Networking and Security Methodologies and Project Management Guidelines

SECURITY ASSESSMENTS
enGenius audits and assesses the system's current state and it's risks based on Industry Standard Techniques and Methodologies. We observe the following security guidelines and recommendations:
- SANS Institute (System Administration, Networking, and Security)
- ICSA.net
- The Computer Security Institute (CSI)
- Microsoft
- Lotus
- RedHat
- The Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT)
- Other Networking and Security-Related Agencies as required
- enGenius Consulting Group Proprietary Methods and Tools
The Network & Security Group may employ the use of ethical hackers to assist in penetration and systems testing. enGenius always notifies the Client before any ethical hackers are deployed, and we detail beforehand exactly what they will be testing.
Project Goal
Our goal, upon identifying the network system, is to assess the current security and make recommendations for improvements and changes based upon the findings of our audit.
Project Scope
The scope of a project is determined by the needs of the client. In a typical security assessment, we audit and assess the security risks and vulnerabilities of existing LAN, WAN and dial-up connectivity as well as major computer systems with exposure to the outside world. In addition, we also investigate and make recommendations regarding the client's current Computer Security Policy if one exists. We also examine internal security threats as well as external security threats.
Business Goals
Most organizations have sensitive electronic data that they wish to keep private and secure from competitors, hackers and certain unauthorized personnel. It is our understanding that military installations and government agencies are involved in preserving the nation's safety and corporate well being. Performing a security audit and assessment can help make sure that there are no potentially damaging security leaks that could compromise the current and future success of your strategic objectives.
enGenius works with the client's IT personnel, business managers, and leadership to make sure that our assessment addresses all of your organization's data security concerns from an information technology standpoint in addition to its unique business standpoint.
User Communities and Data Stores
We analyze the major user communities within the client's organization. This analysis includes size, location and principal applications in use. Gathering this data helps enGenius determine any potential security risks in the way the client uses its office automation and line of business applications, systems and servers.
A data store is an area in the network where data resides. This could be a file server, a server farm, a mainframe, a tape backup unit, or any device on the network where large quantities of data are stored.
System and Network Security Testing
The purpose of testing is to provide the client's organization with a clear picture and checklist of holes, flaws and vulnerabilities in its security and to provide possible solutions. We do these tests using the latest tools in the Security industry, and our choice of tools is made based on Host Configuration and Network Topology.
While testing, we make sure that we do not adversely affect any production networks or critical systems. If we determine that we need or want to test a system or network in such a way that its normal operation would be affected, we coordinate with the client's IT department before proceeding.
Part of our testing may require us to use some of our Security Partners (AKA White Hats). If so, we inform the client and provide copies of our executed standard Non-Disclosure Agreements.
Once our battery of tests on the selected systems, networks and procedures is completed, we present and review the findings with the client. At that time we make recommendations on solutions and repairs.
Security holes and vulnerabilities not visible during implementation are detected by periodic scans and should be patched by the Implementation Team or by the client's IT Department.
